Back to Teaching!
Some of you may know, I used to be a public school teacher for the Halton District School Board and left to re-pursue film and photography. But I LOVED teaching.
Despite leaving the teaching profession in 2017, teaching is always something near and dear to my heart. In fact, I am a better teacher than I will ever be a filmmaker or photographer. My skill sets and personality are just more suited for the education industry than the film one...
BUT I have so many ambitions and goals that are unfinished in the media world so the dream was always to keep doing both... So I said to myself, okay, I will.
This past year I have been running lessons of my own to a few select students teaching photography and more recently, I was invited to be a guest instructor for the "Accessible Content & Media Program" run by Owlware Ltd to teach video editing and camera work over November and December. It's been fantastic to be back in a formal teaching setting with such an awesome and important program too that offers Ontarians of all disabilities hands-on training with digital media production.
I'm very lucky and I'm having fun. Keep pursuing your passions... even when you have multiple.
